Mario Martínez-García

Hello! 👋 I am a Data Scientist at GOVOY, where I work on agentic AI, computer vision and optimization. I hold a PhD in Machine Learning from the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, supervised by Iñaki Inza and Jose A. Lozano, where my research focused on learning using privileged information (LUPI): leveraging features that are available during training but not at deployment time. During my PhD, I completed a research stay at École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) in Montreal under the supervision of Marco Pedersoli. Before that, I obtained my MSc in Data Science from the Open University of Catalonia and my BSc in Physics from the University of Murcia. I am currently also completing an MBA.

Interests: I work in applied AI 🤖, from agentic systems and computer vision to optimization, and keep a research interest in privileged information, knowledge distillation and multi-task learning. I am particularly interested in bringing these techniques into real products and decision-making in clinical and sports environments.
